Get yourself a professionally prepared Will. Simples!

I’m guessing you want a bit more than that, so let me explain the process with JC Independent Wills & Probate.

• We have a telephone chat. We discuss your needs, any concerns, and what you need to think about and prepare, in advance of setting up a formal meeting.
• When you’re ready, we set up a meeting, when you’re free for a good hour, perhaps an hour and a half. If you need more time, we continue.
• Next, we prepare your Will. Usually within a fortnight.
• Then, you sign your Will, in the presence of two independent witnesses.
• We check it carefully and send you a copy of the signed Will.

Ideally, you have us pop it into professional storage, and the location is noted on Certainty, the National Will Register. Then you sleep soundly, only waking long enough to feel smug and comfortable, in the knowledge you’ve done all you can.

I’m hearing from so many people at the moment, who are praising their parents who put everything in place to make the grief process as easy as possible. They have a folder. They know where original documents are.

It makes a difference.
