Back in the day, when I worked for a traditional law firm, I vividly remember my boss asking why people would come to us, as opposed to others, for legal services.
He was the sort of chap who would make you feel that it’s a trick question, and in a state of anxiety, I suggested that we were different, hoping to stall time, so that I could come up with some ideas about how we were different.
“Jane” he said with an air of despair, “being different is not enough.”
I felt so ridiculous. Why would I suggest different?
“Jane, we must strive to be better. There’s no point being different, unless we are better.”
I can still remember feeling small, but in terms of training and making me think in ways I might not otherwise have thought, I thank Mr Debenham for his mental nudges and prods. He was right all along – being different for the sake of being different, is no use to anyone, unless we offer our clients something which is better.
At JC Independent Wills & Probate, we strive to be better. We offer a super quick service when clients need or want that. We offer Saturday appointments. We communicate by anything from snail mail to email. We’re always on the look out though, to improve our service further.
If there’s anything you would like to see from your specialist Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and Probate adviser, that you would benefit from us learning, please do share your ideas here.
