One of the biggest double takes I ever experienced, was when I was asked to say hello to a little old lady, surely in her eighties, who was recovering from implants.
The mind boggled, and I tried not to look too keenly at her bosom area.
I was then educated about dentistry’s use of the word “implant” which is entirely different from what I had understood it to mean.
All professions, all industries, have their own language. When a painter decorator “cuts,” it doesn’t hurt.
If you can’t find a lawyer who speaks a language you understand, keep looking.
With regards to drafting Wills, there are still advisers around who will insist on using the words “per stirpes.” However, you should be able to find an adviser who drafts in such a way that simply says you’re giving to your children, but if any of them dies before you heaven forbid, then that child’s share passes to their own children. Particularly relevant as your little ones become parents themselves.
If you’re still looking for a Wills & Probate specialist who speaks the same language as you, feel free to call Jane on 01727 840 240.
